That’s right folks! The Emily Dobson Photography professional website is now live! I’ve been waiting for the this day for several months, and am so excited to finally showcase my work in a professional, online gallery. Please, tell your friends and spread the word through e-mail, Facebook, and Twitter!

Once you click on the link above, you will be directed to my splash page. From the splash page, you may choose whether you want to be directed to my website or my blog. For those of you who follow me here on the blog, I hope you will continue to show me some love and stop by frequently for updates, special offers, and to see all of my most current work.

On my website, you will find investment information for both custom portrait and custom wedding photography. To celebrate the newly launched website, I’d like to throw out a couple of offers:

The first five people to book a portrait session will receive $20 OFF their sitting fee!

The first three brides to book a wedding will receive $200 OFF the package of their choice!

Contact me TODAY for information! (info@emilydobson.com)

While browing through the website, be sure to check out my FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions page. You will notice that I’m now offering free pre-session and pre-wedding consultations for prospective clients. Some people are completely comfortable communicating and booking via internet; however, I also know that some people would prefer to meet and speak with me in person prior to making a commitment. A consultation is simply a time for us to get to know one another. Tell me about you, your family, your wedding, your hobbies… anything that makes you or your family unique. You may also ask questions regarding the session and or products offered. I will have sample products available for you to view as well. If a face to face meeting isn’t going to be possible due to scheduling conflicts or travel distance, we may set up a phone consultation. If this is something you’re interested in, simply mention “consultation” during our initial contact.

As I close this point, I would like to send out a couple of Thank You’s:

  • First, HUGE thank you and bravo to Patty Dill for designing my logo! It looks fantastic – especially against the black back drop!
  • THANKS to Ryan Wingo for granting me permission to play his song “Wonders” on my website…such an awesome song!
  • To all my beautiful 2009 clients: I would NOT, I repeat NOT be launching this website and starting a new year of business without you. I’m thrilled to showcase your beautiful faces all over my website. THANK YOU for being simply wonderful.
  • And to my incredible husband, Wade: I LOVE YOU! Thank you for your support, patience, encouragement, website proofing, and unending love. You are my best friend.

NOW, spread the word, tell your friends, and find me on Facebook to become a fan of Emily Dobson Photography: another method of communication for updates, special offers, and current work.

THANK YOU FRIENDS and CLIENTS and ALL of my FAITHFUL FOLLOWERS!!

May I just say that sometimes technology frustrates me to no end? Why is it that my blog randomly decides when it isn’t going to let me use the normal font I use on a regular basis? It looks so unprofessional! And, needless to say, it is driving me crazy. This is twice in a row it won’t allow me to use the same size and style font I want…

Blog! I DO NOT like you today!

But what I do like is Shaylee. I am so glad we live closer to Christian and Stephanie now. We’re able to visit each other and meet up in Columbia much more often than we used to when we lived in Memphis and they lived in Kentucky. It was quite sad. Now that we’re closer, Stephanie and I can share maternity clothes (since we’re only TWO weeks apart!), and Wade and I can watch Shaylee grow (we don’t really care about hanging out with Christian and Steph anymore)! Annnnnd listen to her talk? I was with Steph and Shaylee this past week and I said, “Shaylee, you are cute. But you’re little voice just takes the cuteness to a WHOLE new level!” I love it! Shaylee and I created a trick together this week…I taught her how to cheer. She hops up on my thigh and while I hold on she throws her hands up in the air and says, “Go team!” She also knows how to kick and cradle too – we’re quite a pair I tell ya!

Here are some pictures from awhile back that are just absolutely precious. Isn’t she crazy adorable?!

“Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:9-10

The second greatest commandment in scripture is to “love your neighbor as yourself.” In the midst of all the evil in the world, there must be good taking place somewhere. Although there is “no one good, not even one,” I know God is allowing His goodness to shine through His children across the world. And I want to know about it!

You know someone-someone who has experienced a terrible tragedy, but still finds time to help others who recently experienced a loss. You know someone who is struggling to make ends meet meet in this dying economy, but is volunteering at a local homeless shelter every month. You know someone who is working two jobs just to support his/her family, but is still giving to his/her favorite local charity. You know someone who cannot afford custom photography, but would absolutely cherish the timeless images this season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spitit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who it is.

I want to give them the opportunity to experience complimentary custom photography, and it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $20 gift credit card. So why not spread the love?

What the winner receives:

  • One hour on-location session
  • 25 custom cards (not necessarily holiday)
  • (2) 8×10
  • (4) 5×7
  • (10) 4×6
  • CD of all edited images

The Rules:

  1. You cannot nomiate yourself, and the person nomiated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments after purchasing two brand new vehicles does not qualify as sincere financial need.)
  2. The nominee must reside within 60 miles of Macon, MO. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.
  3. You must e-mail me the full story at: emilydobsonphotography@yahoo.com
  4. All entries must be submitted by December 5, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.
  5. The winner will be announced on December 12, 2009 — get nomiating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Emily

Megan Baase – Macon, Missouri Children’s Photographer

I’ve been somewhat out of the loop the past week. I feel like I haven’t touched phototgraphy in days! Right now, it’s half time of the Alabama football game, so I figured I would try and get a little done before the game resumes… ROLL TIDE!

Wade and I met Paula when we opened our new bank accounts here in Macon. Paula was super friendly and helpful, which helped us as we transitioned into our new life here in Missouri. She quickly found out that I was a professional photographer and told me she promised her daughter Megan pictures in the bridesmaid dress she wore earlier this summer. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph Megan. She opened up to me very fast and we simply had a good time hanging out-she loved playing model! Please, take a look at these gorgeous eyes…………..

I recently had the opportunity to work with another old high school friend. Being back in Missouri has allowed me to reconnect with friends I haven’t seen in a couple of years! Katie and I played basketball together for a couple of years in high school and I very much enjoyed the time I had to get to know her. She was always friendly and never treated me poorly. Her friendship was one I often thought about after high school.

Through the years, Katie and I have run into each other time and again. She married her high school sweetheart (though they did spend a little time apart) in 2007, and they now have a precious little girl, Kylee. I was blessed when Katie asked me to come take pictures of her sweet baby girl. I think you too will be blessed when you see these pictures. Enjoy!

Maya Saddler – Macon, Missouri Children’s Photographer October 2, 2009

When Wade and I first moved to Macon and started attending our new church, I remember the pastor’s wife, Michele, telling me to stay away from babies or else I was going to get the baby fever. Too bad she had one of the cutest babies of them all! From the first time Wade and I met little Maya, we decided she was one of the happiest babies we’d ever met. She always smiled and laughed, which was great fun to be around! Now, we since found out that she’s not too fond of the babysitting experience, BUT as long as she’s with that special family of hers, she is happy as can be. Back in August, I had the opportunity to photograph Maya’s one year pictures. Take a look at this cutie patootie…

Isaac and Adysen September 23, 2009

I have the cutest family in the world! If you remember, I have the opportunity to take pictures of my adorable little cousins Elijah and Noah in July. Well, back in August I also had the opportunity to photograph my older cousin’s PRECIOUS two kids, Isaac and Adysen. My cousins, Amanda and Ashley were definitely my buddies growing up. We have endless home videos of our infamous entertainment including amazing vocals, killer dance moves, obnoxious cheers, and one of my all-time favorites: the Christmas performance (although that one included ALL of the cousins). We memorized the Saved By the Bell dance routine when Jesse was on caffine pills (I was totally Kelly!) and we tortured our Grandparents with endless cheers and stunts all the way to (AND FROM I might add) WYOMING!!!!!!!! Can you imagine?!

Amanda, Ashley, and I are all grown up now have like most adults, we have lives our own. We don’t get to see each other very often, but always look forward to (along with everyone else in the fam) Christmas at Grandma Betty’s. It’s totally a tradition for the 22 (almost 24!) grandchildren (and grandchildren-in-laws) and great-grandchild to get together with all the aunts and uncles to have a splendid lunch in the house’s newest addition, followed by a very long, drawn-out present opening. Seriously, every single person has at least two presents and we open them one-by-one with ridiculous amounts of clapping in between. Most importantly, we take time to read and remember Christ’s birth.

Unfortunately, Christmas is still three months away (sign-up now for Christmas pictures!) so I was super excited to spend a little time with Amanda, Isaac, Adysen, and even Nate. Nate cooked a great Olive Garden Chicken dinner while we were out taking pictures. I love them and I miss them. And looking at these pictures just makes me miss them more……. is Adysen not one of the cutest toddlers you’ve ever seen in your whole life?!?!

Hopefully, I’ll have the opportunity to take pictures of the newest addition when she arrives in the Spring!
